Accepting Orange Money and MTN MoMo on your website: the guide
To accept Orange Money and MTN MoMo on your site, the simplest route is a payment aggregator (Notch Pay, CinetPay, Fapshi, MeSomb, Flutterwave, Campay…) that bundles both operators, sometimes with cards. You open a merchant account with your business documents, your provider connects payment to the site, and money is paid out within one to a few days, minus a fee in the region of 1.5 to 3.5% depending on the offer. Selling online in Cameroon: the complete guide to launching a store
To sell online in Cameroon you need a clear catalogue with real photos and prices, payment by Orange Money and MTN MoMo (and cards for international buyers), organised delivery with stated timelines, trust signals (reviews, WhatsApp contact, return policy) and a flow of visitors from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Google. Start simple and improve with sales data. Read the guide →
Selling on WhatsApp or an e-commerce site: which to choose?
WhatsApp is perfect for the relationship and closing the sale, but it doesn’t display a catalogue well, handles neither stock nor automatic payment, and depends on your availability. An e-commerce site shows all your products, is found on Google and takes payments 24/7. The best solution combines both: the site as shopfront and till, WhatsApp for advice and follow-up. Delivery and cash on delivery: organising your e-commerce
Reliable e-commerce delivery in Cameroon rests on clear zones and rates shown on the site, realistic timelines, a reliable partner or riders, order confirmation by call or WhatsApp, and a clear payment rule: upfront by Mobile Money, or on delivery with a deposit to limit no-shows. Read the guide →
Selling to the diaspora from Cameroon: payment and trust
To sell to the diaspora you need a site that builds trust at a distance (clear identity, real photos, reviews, address), in French and English, with card or PayPal payment on top of Mobile Money, prices in several currencies if possible, and clear logistics: shipping abroad, or delivery to a relative in Cameroon. Frequently asked questions
Can I accept Mobile Money without a registered business?
Some aggregators accept individuals or sole traders with limits, but a business account usually requires an RCCM and NIU. Check with the aggregator you choose.
How much does an online store cost in Cameroon?
A simple store starts around 179,000 FCFA with us; full e-commerce with automatic payment, stock and delivery starts at 950,000 FCFA.
Is the WhatsApp Business catalogue enough?
For a few products it helps. But it isn’t indexed by Google, doesn’t handle automatic payments and gets hard to manage with many items.
Should I offer cash on delivery?
It reassures many clients but increases no-shows. An effective compromise is a Mobile Money deposit, or cash on delivery only for known clients.
How do I accept card payments from Cameroon?
Through a payment aggregator that accepts international cards (several do) or PayPal where available for your account.
