The public price has been cut sharply in recent years and sits at a few thousand FCFA a year with accredited registrars. Always check the renewal price.
Should my site be hosted in Cameroon?
Not necessarily. Hosting abroad with a CDN is often fast and reliable. For certain sensitive data, the personal data law regulates transfers abroad: check what applies to your business.
How much does a professional email address cost?
Free or nearly free with some hosts (with limits), a few thousand FCFA per user per month with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, often paid by card.
Does a static site need maintenance?
Much less than WordPress: no weekly security updates. It’s still useful to renew domain and hosting, monitor uptime and update content.
Do SSL certificates cost money?
Most sites can use a free certificate (Let’s Encrypt or the host’s own), renewed automatically. Paid certificates mostly serve special needs.
